Men's League, Part Trois

Red Circus, a Halifax men's touring team, in a partnership with Halifax Ultimate will be running its 3rd Indoor Men's League on Wednesday nights. The league is open to all players of any skill level. There is a maximum of 60 spots available in the league so please register early, so that you don't miss out.

This will be an 8-week league. running from Mar 19th - May 7th.

Below is the information on our upcoming winter offerings. Full information for each league is contained on the registration pages! All of these offerings are open to people of all skill levels!
Saturdays - 5v5 Mixed league TEAM entry @ STAD/CGC/CPA/MSVU. Feb-Apr
Mondays - 4v4 mixed draft @ CGC/CHS. Jan-Mar

C4P Indoor tournament

Halifax Ultimate, in a partnership with Salty and Red Circus are proud to announce that we will be hosting the 4th Annual C4P Indoor Ultimate tournament at the Canada Games centre on January 10-12th. 
- 20 teams
- 4 on 4, (2:2 ratio at all times), Continuous Play format, 50 min games. 
- $425 per team
- Games will run Friday Jan 10th to Sunday Jan 12th. 
Friday (7-10 PM) 
Saturday (8 AM - 7 PM) 
Sunday (8AM-6 PM) 
- Location: 26 Thomas Raddal Drive, Halifax, NS (Clayton Park / Bayer’s Lake)

This tournament is open to teams and players of all skill levels and will include teams competing in the Chiac Grand Prix . Teams will be divided into two divisions (comp and rec) with crossover games to allow teams to move up or down depending on their results. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers of each division. 
Registration will be opening for all teams on Nov29th at 5 PM. Teams that are competing in the Chiac Grand Prix must register by Dec 11th in order to guarantee their spot in the tournament, any Grand Prix team that registers after that date will be subject to the bid process. Registration will close for all teams on Dec 18th. Teams that have made the tournament will be notified by Dec 20th. We will be collecting a $100 deposit at registration via email money transfer. Teams will be required to pay the remainder of their team fee when they receive notification of acceptance in the tournament, refunds will be provided to any team that does not have their bid accepted. 
Do to the growing popularity of indoor ultimate in the Maritimes and Chiac Grand Prix we are expecting numerous bids. To give your team the best chance of getting into the tournament makes your bid as strong as possible. Teams will be evaluated based on the strength of the bid not on the team/players. Chiac Grand Prix teams are still expected to contribute to the tournament in some fashion with their bid. 
We are looking for bids that help any of the following aspects:
-Tournament Experience (volunteer, scorekeeping, prizes, fun games, billets)
-Party Experience 
-Donations to Charity (food drive, clothes, money)
-Donations to Nova Scotia Juniors Program 
The bid committee is looking for fun creative bids that help make the tournament experience better; we are not interested in bribes. Also please include your roster so that we can confirm Chiax Grand Prix teams and rank teams accordingly for scheduling purposes only.

The're a bunch of 30-somethings putting together the first-ever East Coast, Womens Masters team called Seasoned. 
They're aiming to play Montreal Jazz Fest and Canadian Ultimate Championships in Waterloo, Ontario.

Saturday Social League - Pickup players

We're on the lookout for some pickup players of all skill levels to play on Saturdays.
Once registered, your name will be put on a list which the league will use to help fill playing spots when captains request a pickup player. With your registration, you will be eligible for up to 3 games. You will be refunded a pro-rated amount if you don't get 3 games in. If you do get the 3 games in, you can then register again for 3 more games.
After registering, players will be added to a "team" where they'll be able to indicate if they are available to play. The league co-ordinator will act as the middle-person between the teams and the subs.

Women's Clinics

Hello Women of Halifax Ultimate!
It's time for the return of the HU Indoor Women's Clinics. Whether you are brand new to ultimate or have been playing for years and want to improve your game and stay in shape over the winter, we have something for you!
Clinics are held Saturdays at Stadacona Gym from 11:30am-2pm, running from November 9 - February 1 (non-tournament weekends). The time will be split into separate developmental and competitive time. Feel free to come to just one portion, or stay for the entire time!
Each clinic will follow a similar schedule with a different theme for each week. A typical schedule will be:
11:30-noon: Competitive warmup and fitness on the track
Noon-12:30: Competitive scrimmage
12:15-12:30: Warmup on the track for beginner/intermediate players
12:30-1:20: Throwing/drills/rules for all
1:20-2:00: Beginner/intermediate scrimmage focusing on concepts covered in drills, followed by cool down/stretch.
Cost is $5 per session and can be paid at the gym. Please note that registration/waiver signing is required before you can attend any sessions (no drop-ins allowed). An updated list of all registrants will be taken the Friday before each clinic.

Men's Fall Indoor League

Red Circus, a Halifax men's touring team, recently acquired Wednesday night practice time at CFB Stadacona, and they’ve offered the time up to run a Men’s league in partnership with Halifax Ultimate. The league is open to all players of any skill level, as teams will be balanced via a draft with experienced captains provided for each team. There is a maximum of 60 spots available in the league so please register early, so that you don't miss out.
Red Circus's goal is to continue to help men in the city develop their skills by providing an opportunity to play men’s ultimate with top level players providing advice, mentorship, and knowledge to take your game to the next level.

- 8 Week League, Nov 6th - Jan 8th (cancelled Dec 25th, Jan 1st)
- Wednesday Nights from 8-11 PM, 55m games
- 5 on 5 continuous play format at Stadacona
- 6 Teams of 10 players

Red Circus will also be running a second league after this one is finished if there is enough demand.  By running shorter 8 week leagues we will be able to mix up the teams more often and provide players with opportunities to play with and against different players through the winter.

Movember Reign

Red Circus Ultimate and Halifax Ultimate are teaming up to bring you the year's best 1-day Ultimate Tournament. Movember Reign! We have a goal of raising $3500 to help support Men's Health Programs, and we want you to join us!

Who: YOU!.. and your friends, family, significant others. 
What: One day, mixed gender draft Ultimate tournament. 4v4, 2M2F continuous play.
When: November 17th, 8am-6pm
Where: Canada Games Centre
Why: Moustaches, charity, and Ultimate go together like peanut butter, jelly, and nutella. Trust us, it's good.

In both divisions for all people, moustaches are mandatory. Grown, drawn on, glued on, implanted, transplanted.. it all works.

For the low price of $25 (tx's in), we are going to give you 3-4 games of Ultimate, and the fuzzy warm feeling that you had a big part in helping us reach our goals.

Just sign up and we'll put you on a team. You can pick 1 person to be paired with, so bring a friend! You can provide a pairing request during registration.
